Introducing the Verse Leadership Team: A Talented Group on a Mission
Now that we are out of stealth mode, we’d like to officially introduce the Verse leadership team. These individuals bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise in computer science and AI, clean power procurement and portfolio management, product design, and brand building that will propel our organization to new heights. They’ve worked at some of the biggest companies in the world, and at small fast-growth startups. The team has collectively originated, negotiated, and executed dozens of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and virtual PPAs, operated portfolios of more than 10GW, and built the world’s leading wholesale bidding market software.
Each Verse leadership team member brings unique skills and perspectives to their respective roles, and we’re excited about the positive impact they will have on our company.
Seyed Madaeni: Co-founder & CEO
Seyed, a veteran clean energy executive and AI/machine learning expert, is one of our co-founders. He’s also one of the world’s foremost experts on developing software to dispatch grid-scale energy storage. With a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving digital transformation in the energy sector, Seyed is well-equipped to spearhead Verse’s growth.
Matt Penfold: Co-founder & CCO
Matt, our other co-founder, brings a wealth of experience productizing and commercializing clean energy innovations. With a successful track record of rapidly scaling businesses, Matt will play a pivotal role leading our commercial operations. His deep understanding of electricity market dynamics and emerging technologies will be invaluable as we continue to grow.
Alison Mickey: VP of Marketing
Alison, our head of marketing, is an experienced marcom professional known for her creative thinking and customer-centric approach. With a passion for brand development and a talent for crafting compelling narratives and campaigns, Alison will drive our marketing initiatives, expand our brand presence, and help us reach new audiences.
Dane McKay: Head of Design
Dane has been designing intuitive user interfaces for innovative software companies for more than a decade. As Verse’s head of design, Dane brings expertise distilling complex processes into clear journeys that will ensure we deliver an exceptional experience and products that meet our customers’ needs.
Nathan Murthy: Head of Software
Nathan joins us as our head of engineering, responsible for developing world-class software platforms that unlock the benefits of clean power. With significant experience building intelligent distributed energy systems and financial reporting tools, Nathan’s meticulous approach to software development will ensure Verse delivers the best products to our customers.
Shehzad Wadalawala: VP of Strategy
As Verse’s head of strategy, Shehzad will draw on his experience optimizing energy procurement decisions to lead Verse’s optimization modeling team and oversee delivery of products to customers. With a strong background in energy risk management and evaluating energy supply agreements, Shehzad will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base and developing strategic partnerships.
